Challenge
A cultural event with global attention, presented by the Nā Lei Aloha Foundation, needed a digital presence that could carry it year-round, then through a pandemic.
Solution
Tapiki has managed the site since 2013, including updates, WCAG accessibility work, and technical guidance. When the beach was closed, Tapiki built a virtual lantern app so people could still take part.
Thirteen years in. While the beach was closed, people floated lanterns in the app instead.
