Department of Land and Natural Resources · Explore Outdoor Hawaiʻi
Gold, Best of the Web – Government Agency.
Challenge
Hawaiʻi’s Department of Land and Natural Resources needed one place where residents and visitors could find recreation information, apply for licenses and permits, and reserve state parks, along with guidance on the state’s cultural, historical, and natural resources.
Solution
Tapiki developed Explore Outdoor Hawaiʻi as a subcontractor to Tyler Technologies, which created the site for DLNR. It brings boating, camping, commercial activities, filming, fishing, hiking, hunting, and state park reservations into one site.
Launched in July 2024. The site won gold in the Best of the Web – Government Agency category at the 2024 Horizon Interactive Awards, announced by DLNR in February 2025.
